Emmanuel: God With Us in Every Season
GCBC presented a Christmas cantata and then Pastor Steve gave a sermon that explores the profound meaning of Emmanuel—God with us—through the lens of Christ's incarnation. The message emphasizes that God did not love humanity from a distance but came near through Jesus Christ, who humbled Himself to become fully human while remaining fully divine. The sermon highlights three main truths: God came near to us, no darkness must be faced alone, and no sorrow goes unseen by God. Through Christ's incarnation, believers receive God's quality of life and can walk in the light rather than darkness. Jesus experienced every trial, temptation, and suffering that humans face, yet without sin, making Him the perfect High Priest who continually intercedes for believers. The message calls believers to remember that in every season, trial, and hope yet to come, God remains with us through His Son.
